Phoenix Theatre Ensemble Offers Gutsy 'Getting Out'
There's an exciting new theatrical group in town and they've found a home in a familiar old building. They're the Phoenix Theatre Ensemble,... and they're very much worth seeing!

While 'Getting Out' is not always easy to take in its searing exposure of human exploitation and anger, it is almost always riviting theatre.

...The obvious dedication to acting and directorial excellence is anything but modest and meager. The Phoenix Theatre Ensemble . . . promises to be an important and valuable addition to the Cleveland Theatre scene.

Phoenix Group Excels
Stark, slice-of-life drama is something we rarely see out here in the provinces. In this area big box office is the key to success. SO when a high-impact, emotionally-direct play like Marsha Norman's "Getting Out" comes along, it often slips away unnoticed.

Don't let it happen this time. For the new Phoenix Theatre Ensemble, staging the play . . has something important going on.
Blessed with a perfect cast, Fulton is not only technically consistent but is able to bring a constant realism to the difficult material.

"Getting Out" is a well-written play that should be seen. But one thing more should be made clear. Phoenix Theatre is not just another community theatre stringing a season together. It's a group of skilled professionals attempting to establish a permanent resident company in the area. They deserve every theatre goer's attention.

Plain Dealer - Michael Ward
. . .exploits the drama of the situation. . . .extremely well serfved by Janis Jacobs and Teresa Westbrook. They play, respectivively, Arlene and Arlie, who are the same physical person, this being a play that is done on two, and sometimes three levels..

...The Phoenix cast manages to get a wealth fo feeling out of this subject matter.
